Xiaolin Zhang

Ms. Zhang co-founded Shoreline Capital in 2004 and has since managed much of the company's operations and sourcing. She also heads the firm's investments in non-performing loan portfolios. Ms. Zhang has been a principal in Chinese real estate investment firms for almost ten years. She previously started a development firm in Guangzhou with less than US$1 million in capital and grew the firm's assets to US$50 million. Ms. Zhang has also overseen the acquisition and servicing of multiple non-performing loan portfolios. In a decade of experience in China, Ms. Zhang has created a deep local business network. She holds an MBA from the University of Chicago GSB.

Benjamin Fanger

After co-founding Shoreline Capital, Mr. Fanger has overseen much of the company's sourcing of both investments and capital. He plays a central role in the firm's deal analysis and execution for real estate, non-performing loans and other asset classes. Prior to Shoreline, Mr. Fanger was a founding member in the start-up and exits of several firms, through which he gained extensive China-related experience. At O'Melveny & Myers, he did work on Chinese non-performing loan investments with the field's leading team of attorneys. Mr. Fanger is fluent in spoken and written Chinese, having lived in both mainland China and Taiwan. He also holds a JD and MBA from the University of Chicago.

Jeffrey Yang

Mr. Yang oversees Shoreline's investments in real estate. He has over a decade of experience in real estate investment and development in China and has managed the planning, construction, government approvals and sales of four high-rise commercial buildings and one residential community. Altogether, Mr. Yang has overseen most of the real estate development process of over 1.4 million square meters of real estate in China. He is uniquely familiar with the government processes related to real estate and distressed asset investment. He sources real estate opportunities for the firm through his extensive network within China's investment channels.
