    Shoreline Capital was one of the first investment firms in China’s distressed space and has spent years institutionalizing its experience and platform. The team is heavily engaged in distressed asset sourcing, due-diligence, pricing, acquisitions, as well as various exit strategies, including third-party sales, restructurings, workouts, liquidations and public listings. Every professional at Shoreline is fluent in spoken and written Chinese, with a background in local Chinese banking, finance, law, private equity or real estate. Shoreline’s proprietary database of distressed opportunities in China includes over US$100 billion of assets. By 2008, the firm had sourced and serviced over US$1.6 billion (principal) of Chinese distressed debt. It closed its first discretionary fund at US$178.2 million in June 2008, surpassing a US$150 million target. The fund has an investor base of well-known endowments, fund-of-funds, pensions and foundations.
